Recht selten zeigten sie die WLC 1216 in den letzten Jahren in Bayern. Am 9.8. war 1216 951 jedoch mit einem KLV bei Laaber nach Ludwigshafen unterwegs.

Westbound NS 951, with the F9's leading the Office Car train, passes through Kenova, passing over the head end of Eastbound CSX T122-28, right on the heels of another Eastbound on the opposite main.
Die 1216 951 der Wiener Lokalbahn brachte heute den TEC 41151 (Rheinhausen > Budapest) Richtung Osten. In einem kurzen Sonnenfenster gelang ein Bild des Zuges bei Haiding an der Passauerbahn.

BN eastbound coal with "Trough Train" equipment arrives @0924 The concept was supposed to allow more space for coal loading by eliminating the space between the cars. It was a nice try but evidently it didn't last; I think there were three train sets. I had been working for Wisconsin Central for seven years so I wasn't cut in on the "logic" for this one, but I must give BN credit for trying it. I was going to get out to Marsland (about a 40 mile drive) to get a picture of it going around the semi horseshoe curve there but obviously I was a bit short on that.

The Union Pacific Museum excursion rolls through Elkhorn, approaching the control point at Pacific Street where it will be delayed a couple hours. A manifest strung out through the crossover had gone into emergency and pulled out a drawbar in the process. D'oh!
