I decided to make some smudge wands using my juniper today. I've toyed with the idea off and on over the years, to remove this tree because it's in a very awkward place for the size it's growing. But I started reading about juniper berries and their medicinal qualities and also realized that dried, it would probably make good incense. Indeed, I found that it *is* traditionally used in that way. So now I'm thinking to just trim it way back and tune in to its energy. Plus, I don't typically like to remove a plant unless it's diseased or very problematic.

I woke up later than I wanted today, but I needed the sleep. Walked to the bank and then the local co op bought some hummus, spicy chips, sparkling purple drank and some chocolate. Since my birthday is tomorrow and Eve thought she might not see me, she purchased me a cup that looks like an ice cream cone for 99 cents. I freaked with joy when I saw it. We sat outside chatted, chugged our dranks, and stuffed our faces with hummus. This, is why we're not only roommates, but friends as well.
Tomorrow I'm meeting up with my mama to spend some quality time, something I haven't had in over five months I'd say. I'm super excited to see her, but I'm loathing all the road construction. Seriously, wtf. Why must BOTH ways of 94 be closed? HUH? Could you make it harder for me to see my family AND work a job where I have to drive places that I need to use 94? The joke of Minnesota seasons: "there's only two seasons in MN, winter and construction," really does take a whole new meaning for me now.
New t-shirt inspired me to put the snorkel gear on.
