Villa Marina, Douglas IoM. The Villa Marina is an entertainment venue in Douglas, Isle of Man, which forms part of the wider Villa-Gaiety complex. Replacing an earlier house and gardens, the latter also used for outdoor entertainment and meetings, it now comprises the Royal Hall, Broadway Cinema, Promenade Suite, Colonnade Suite, Dragon's Castle and the Villa Marina Gardens, and the new building was designed by Alban Jones, opening in July 1913. By the end of the C20th the complex had fallen on hard times and was in need of serious work to restore it, ownership passed to the Isle of Man Government and repairs and extensions began in 2001, completed in April 2004 to the design of Ian Brown.
