After the reroute of overhead traffic from the Sault Ste. Marie gateway trains 911/912 were the only jobs on the Gladstone-Soo yard main. The schedule was seriously changed in comparison to earlier when these jobs handled St. Luc-Schiller Park COFC. 911 had been a 2AM job out of Soo yard and was changed to a 5PM call time in August 1985. It remained that way through the end of SOO operations up here in October 1987. This was fine in the late spring-early fall time period but about 6 months a year the train was virtually unshootable due to darkness falling before it would get out of Soo yard. The amount of daylight was rapidly lengthening when I shot this 911 at Dafter with 741 and 4402 leading 48 cars. April 25, 1986.
911 lapel pin to honor and remember those who lost their lives that day. Hard to believe that the 20th anniversary of that infamous day will be coming up this fall.

October 01, 2011. Rabka Zdrój. Poland. In the first rays of the rising sun, the Ty2-911 steam locomotive hauing a special freight train from Chabówka to Nowy Sącz, in the clouds of steam, overcomes the slightly hazy trail from Chabówka to Rabka Zaryte.
Second year for us heading to Jersey City, NJ to view the lights of the 911 Memorial in downtown Manhattan. Going to try to make it a yearly tradition.
