Aufgrund dessen dass die Wolfsburg Lehrter Strecke aufgrund von Sturmschäden und Bauarbeiten gesperrt ist werden die Übergabezüge von Magdeburg nach Seelze derzeit über die KBS 310 umgeleitet. Dabei konnte ich den Dieselvectron 247 906 Grischan mit einem schönen Mischer in der Region Helmstedt ablichten.

VIA 906 heads up Toronto-Windsor train 71 at mile 80.4 on VIA's Chatham Sub. Trailing is the 6407 that will lead the return trip to Toronto with train 78.
Hiking several miles up the derelict tracks into the lonely desert wilderness, it's incredibly eerie to round a canyon and suddenly be confronted with these: three commuter rail cars from the Agence Métropolitain de Transport, Quebec. Why are there abandoned rail cars from French Canada in the Sonora desert wilderness? We thought about this as we went inside the train and ate lunch. We never saw another soul in the gorge; with the long dark tunnels you hike through and the rickety old wood trestles over deep dry canyons, the French train kinda sealed it: this is one of the strangest places we had ever been.
The slowest train I've ever chased... max speed of 8 MPH, no kidding. Here they pass under the overpass in Saginaw. Normally, it's impossible to get a train both at this bridge and the depot, but since it was going so slow, we easily beat it by a couple minutes.

Lothian 908 (SN08 BXW) is a July 2008 registered Volvo B9TL/Wright Eclipse Gemini new in madder fleet colours. It gained red and yellow "3 Bridges Tour" livery for the 2019 season.

For the duration of the track renewal work on the Trasa Kórnicka at Osiedla Lecha, service 25 was introduced using one of the bidirectional trams. This was a route shuttling between Kórnicka and Polanka, a journey of little more than 60 seconds. This tram was built in 1969 for Frankfurt and came to Poznan in 2005. After a nice beachside lunch we headed south with a stop for a rainy hike at the fabulous Riverbend Park in Jupiter. After that the plan was to head south toward Fort Lauderdale with two goals, photograph some TriRail commuter trains and visit Funky Buddha Brewing....alas only one would be achieved. I got some mid day intel from a friend that only one F40 was in rotation for the day and by the time I got that info and checked the time I realized we had an hour drive and if Google was right we'd arrive two minutes before the train.
I was hoping that TriRail ran like the T but alas they were spot on time so I had no margin of error. After just under an hour out we were 5 min from the destination when one wrong tuen sent us up the wrong Interstate ramp and that was all she wrote....the 6 min delay that incurred made the endeavor hopeless and I never got another chance as this was the sole EMD out working this day and it wouldn't return until after dark from Miami....
Feeling pretty dejected I decided to at least check if FEC had anything going on and hearing some chatter on the radio I found Fort Lauderdale local train 906 running light off the Port Everglades spur with GP40-2s 428 and 418 (built new for the railroad in Aug. 1980 and Oct. 1974 respectively). Having come off PEV1 and cleared the north end of Port Everglades interlocking at MP 343.46 they are now starting back south to head down the East Main through the Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood Airport tunnels under runways 10R-28L to gather up a train in the east storage tracks that they will take down to Hialeah Yard. This view looks south from between the opposing signals of the interlocking as they pass under the impressive four track wide signal bridge.
