Burlington Northern Railroad SW1 90 at West Burlington, Iowa on April 15, 1978, Kodachrome by Gib Allbach, Chuck Zeiler collection. Built in May 1940 as CB&Q SW1 9145 (c/n 1072) on EMD Order E310, it became BN 90 and was retired by the BN in October 1978.

So today was my second day in Edinburgh, still getting used to this whole driving on the left side rule. Quite odd to get used too especially when you see little old ladies driving down the street and you think to yourself "NOBODIES DRIVING THAT CAR!!!" But I do have to say the round-abouts are quite nice keeps traffic moving and they are a bit fun to drive around.
So this is the window in my room and I was thinking it would be a great location for a photo. I almost used it last night but then decided I wanted some daylight for it. So I took this!
Tomorrow we head up to Loch Ness and I sure hope the Loch Ness Monster makes an appearance cause it would be quite swell to take a photo of it. Maybe even hop in and take my 365 with it! haha.

Iets waar ik weinig aan heb gedaan is om SM 90 te foto fotograferen omdat ik dat geen mooie treinen vond . Achteraf toch spijt dat ik er niet meer aandacht aan heb besteed . Toen ik hier op iets anders stond te wachten dit toch meegepakt.
En nu zelfs inmiddels allemaal gesloopt valt nu ook onder oude NS treinen wat ik me toen niet kon voorstellen.
De SM 90 stellen NS 2107+2103 als tr8023 van Zwolle naar Emmen bij Nieuw Amsterdam op 5-7-1997.

Thank god this hell-iday is over...
I dislike valentines nearly as much as new years eve.
Just an update on the sleeping thing... 2 sleeping pills last night (one at midnight and a repeat at 5am) and still didn't get to sleep until nearly 7 am... got maybe 4 hours broken sleep after that.
I MUST sleep during NIGHTTIME hours tonight! I have a dentist appointment in the morning and since my dentist is also my doctor (yes.. very strange.. both an MD and a DDs....and excellent at both) ...soo. since my dentist is also my doctor... I'm hitting him up for something more the over the counter stuff because I seriously have a problem now.

90 second long exposure just after sunset, looking west across Loch Inver. The smooth sea looks almost like a layer of cloud with mountains poking out. Like an inversion. Maybe it should be called Loch Inver(sion) LOL! :-D
A wander around what's left of RAF Tilstock, Shropshire
Fantastic place for a mooch and easily accessible. Lots of old buildings that are sadly being reclaimed by nature and worse still the 'yoofs'.
It was opened in 1915 and had a capacity of 30.000! as a training base for trench warfare.
In 1939 it became a PoW and then closed in 1941 to become an airbase with the construction of 3 runways.
Today the airfield is used for skydivers and a rally driving experience.

English, Welsh and Scottish Railway BREL/GEC Class 90 90 036 25kv AC electric locomotive passes through Durham railway station on the east coast mainline with a Royal Mail Low Fell to Bristol Parkway parcels train. This locomotive was built by British Rail at Crewe Works in April 1990. 67 014 is tagged onto the back and will take the train forward from Doncaster Royal Mail terminal.
The Saab 90 was built from 1984 until 1987, combining the front of the former 99 (introduced in 1968) and the rear of the 900 saloon. It was manufactured in Finland.
Conrail local WPKI-90 has just finished working the ex Erie Newburgh Branch in Newburgh N.Y. and is headed south on the River Line. The River Line tunnel under the Newburgh Branch has recently been "Daylighted" and I am standing on the ex Erie branch which now has a trestle in place. The view is looking North with the branch and the Hudson River off to the right.The local has a sizable train on this day comprised of many road salt empty hoppers that were pulled out of a dealer in New Windsor NY where the current East Coast Railroad Services has a yard today.
