With the temperatures at night falling beneath 40° I hereby officially claim that it's fall. This morning, I awoke to two more succulent casualties to downright cold weather.
Yesterday, I made my first of what will be several leaf gathering outings. These four were almost as seen. I had to arrange the darkest leaf for a better angle at the top, but otherwise, that's how I found them. Mostly from Beech trees I think. I'm no tree expert, and while I wasn't looking, over the past 50 years, this community within a community acquired 23 species. It's a shame that sugar maple won't do well in this climate. I find color mostly when half of the leaves have fallen.
I haven't been through the entire 72 shots from yesterday afternoon, and that's how archives are formed!
