I posted my first ever California Thrasher, against a yukky white sky, a couple of weeks ago. Lo and behold, I spotted another just a few days later. This one must have been true to its name, briskly thrashing those leaves for sustenance. The leaves were so thick it would drop out of sight then surface again. It thrashed so hard it finally disappeared into the dense chapparel, but not before it gave me a few minutes of entertainment. I hear they're great songsters, but all I got was the leaf-thrashing swish-swish noise. 😉

Westbound CP freight approaching Lobo, west of London, led by CP RS-18 8765, F7B 4445 and RS-10 8567. Taken from Denfield Road, this is a view that would be impossible to photograph in 2022!
