Sh2-86 is an emission nebula in the constellation Vulpecula. NGC6823 is about 50 light years across, and is about 6000 light years from Earth.

Sharpless 86 (Sh2-86) is an emission nebula complex in the constellation Vulpecula. Sh2-86 contains the open star cluster NGC 6823 . The most outstanding feature of that region are pillars of gas and dust that resemple to those of the Eagle Nebula. That is why Ch2-86 is sometimes called Little M16.

Much of the LNAC is built on a fill. Here, number 86 throttles up after passing the slower parts in the middle of the largest fill. North of Corydon, IN.
2013-01-25. We've finally decided to launch our event photography business (together with mcdux - www.flickr.com/photos/mcdux/). Nothing is set yet, except our mind. I've been thinking of a business name and logo for a few days. Is this then the first ever picture of our photography brand?

While I always look for good leaders, cool scenes and whatnot while trackside, I also pay lots of attention to rolling stock. Some of my favorite examples of modern archeology are 86' Autoparts boxcars. There's still quite a few floating around, but they just never get old to me.
A few such cars sit with 13J, which is waiting for a better signal at East Yard. Somehow, luck dealt me a tiny space to wedge myself through a brick wall and the city's preserved depot, to grab a quick look at some illuminated examples.

A trio of class 86's heads through Tamworth on 4 March 2011, comprising of 86701 'Orion', 86702 'Cassiopeia' and 86101 'Sir William A Stanier FRS'.

Dieses Wochenende 12. - 14.05.17 war Dampf auf der Insel Usedom angesagt. Die Press (Eisenbahn-Bau- und Betriebsgesellschaft Pressnitztalbahn mbH) in zusammenarbeit mit der Usedomer Bäderbahn fuhr mehrmals täglich einen Sonderzug zwischen Heringsdorf und Zinnowitz. Dazu wurde die 86 1333-3 der Press umnummeriert, mit Beschriftungen des BW Heringsdorf und mit Windleitblechen versehen. Dies entsprach zwar nicht 100% der Originalmaschine aber war schon fotogen.

Besides the roadrailer, the other crown jewel of the Auto Artery is 181. This train used to only consist of 86' boxcars, but like everything nowadays, it will pick up manifest en route. Today, If one is lucky, the 86' boxcars will be upfront. The 86'ers are loaded with auto parts for the Ford Kansas City Assembly Plant in Claycomo, MO.
I really miss winter light. I'm looking forward to shooting all day with no high sun, then being able to eat dinner at a decent time when the sun goes down.
