LOLA Day 83
October 28, 2014
Positive week continues. My shiny new purple steeped tea bubble cup arrived yesterday! Today I am feeling good. I am accepting that I am on this journey and that I can't just jump ahead in time and be done with all these emotions and feelings. i am trying to embrace them and the whole experience. But a good tea always helps keep me calm, and even better with a shiny new purple cup! Life is hard, but you don't need to let your emotions control you. It's a strange concept and one I have struggled to make sense of in the past. However I am starting to understand it more now. We let our emotions control us and our actions, when they don't need to.
A tough subject for me is letting go (hahah this phrase now always make me think of the movie frozen). Just letting go and instead of being the one doling out advice and help, I need to be open to accepting what others have to offer. I am open to accepting it, but I think the bigger issue is accepting it for it's face value. People love and care for me and want to help me. It's not because they feel bad for me because I am going through a tough time (well maybe that's part of it). But that they care for me, there are no expectations of payment, this isn't tradieses, they genuinely care and want to help ME. I've talked before about accepting the help others are offering. Easier said then done. I would do anything for so many of you, so why is it so hard for me to believe that you would do the same for me? We need to believe that we are all worth it. We need to treat ourselves as if we are our own best friends.
In my search for today's quotes I came across this post: tinybuddha.com/blog/you-deserve-love-including-your-own/ and it is absolutely, and exactly what i am working on right now. " Understanding who we are, that we are lovable and worthy of love allows us to love and be loved.
I urge you to learn about yourself—your past, your emotions, your reactions. Honesty is key. You have to face up to who you are, which can be very difficult. Imagine me, a confident, organized, highly functioning executive discovering my life was run on an urge to prove I’m worthy of love. That was a hard one!
But if you can deeply connect with the real you, who wants, needs, and above all deserves to be loved, a freedom lies ahead that is beautiful to behold." - Mary Snedon
Quotes for today:
*Don't let them in,
don't let them see
Be the good girl you always have to be
Conceal, don't feel,
don't let them know
Well now they know
Let it go, let it go
Can't hold it back anymore

*It's funny how some distance
Makes everything seem small
And the fears that once controlled me
Can't get to me at all

*“The amount of happiness that you have depends on the amount of freedom you have in your heart.” ~Thich Nhat Hanh
