She flew in across the pond and landed. I grabbed this shot and fairly well arrested the motion of the bulrush stalk. The Blackbirds are very common here but like so many other birds, hold their own beauty!

Red-breasted merganser
Scientific name: Mergus serrator
The streamlined red-breasted merganser is a handsome bird and a great fisher - its long, serrated bill helps it to catch and hold its slippery fish prey. It is most commonly spotted around the coast in winter.
Still trying to give an idea of size/scale to this amazing lake. Wizard Island (to the right of the image) is also a small volcano within this enormous Crater Lake volcano
