The sun eventually made a brief appearance and Ms. Anhinga decided to enjoy a brief flight, only to return a few minutes later.
A rare bird for Colorado. The last time one was seen around here was back in 2003. First time I get to photograph one, so it was quite exciting to be there! Here is a loner female chillin' under the dreary skies.

So it is early September, which around Stockholm Sweden means autumn has arrived and the number of insects out and about have dropped significantly.
On a walk out in the forst near our home together with my family I still naturally brought the camera as you never know.
Apart from a few spiders and not much else, the trip was coming to an end without anything really interesting, plus the weather looked like it was gonna take a serious turn for the worse with dark clouds looming.
And that's when I saw the familiar green glisten of a green tiger beetle (Cicindela campestris) on the path in front of us!
The usual crawling and walking on my knees followed - but this one wonderfully enough decided to pause and pose a little bit for me and I ended up with this shot which quite possibly is my favourit of 2020!
Oh, and we got back just as the heavens opened with a massive rain.
