In the destroyed village of Corbera d'Ebre, part of the Ebre battlefield, from the spanish civil war, we meet with this gathering of Willy's Jeeps, mostly WW2 era models. There were at least four more off camera.
So there you have US Army Willys in a battlefield, but this was not it's war (they even did not exist, in 1938).
This one his marked as being part of the 505th Regiment, of the 82 Airborne Division, of Normandy and Market-Garden fame.

Slow Saturday. We cleaned all day and did laundry and generally tried to get back into the mindset that vacation is just about over :(
It has become a tradition for some young tourists to have their wedding photos taken beside St Paul's cathedral & other well-known places in London. With blossom on the trees adding to the effect, I'm sure this couple will be very happy with their photos.

Just the working you wanted back in the day Plymouth to Exeter on a VR on the 82, yes please!
Back in the Summer of 2003 VRs were common on this working and EWS747W was a regular, here having just re-entered Plymouth at the Roborough end of the city.
The quality of image not up to usual as this was taken on my very first digital camera and it was not great but at least enabled me to record some shots!

Woke up to my picture from the 4th making it to Explore! Third time which is super exciting!
I’ve been feeling incredibly down the last week and I’m tired of taking pictures of my sad face so, have this instead.
Hopefully I’ll find the light at the end of the tunnel but right now it’s pretty dark and I keep running into walls.
I haven’t publicly discussed it anywhere except Twitter and even then just casual mentions, but my boyfriend of 9 years and I broke up almost 3 months ago. Two days into this projects to be exact. I was struggling before that but it just made everything that much harder. @thepowerfulkatrinka complimented me recently on my resilience in sticking with the project while dealing with all that. (A compliment that made me cry a little, love you Kat.) To be honest this project is one of the few things that’s kept me going. I’m very lonely. We lived together the last 2 years so that part really sucked. I feel unwanted and unappreciated. Like I don’t really matter to anyone and that I’m not a priority. I don’t plan on being this open too often but I felt like it was time to address what’s been going on with me, because some days it’s all I can do to make it to the next.

This is what my daughter and I got up to late Saturday afternoon!
First off, this is way way harder than I imagined, and i'm not totally happy with the background which is my backyard of concrete and weeds! But I will say I am glad I did it outside...what a mess we made!! And how much milk did we waste!? I may post a collage of all our failures in a bit, got mother coming to dinner in a minute so I may have to stop playing on my pc - antisocial apparently!
Oh, and the mug is mine - it says "Flippin Mental"!!
2014.10.15 Braila. This type of locomotive is the result of the first serious modernization of the old 040-DHC diesel hydraulic locomotive. They where overhauld at FAUR workshops in partnership with Alsthom. Along with the new design came new equipments as well as a new transmission and a 1500 HP Caterpillar engine. The first two prototypes however where equipped with an MTU engine and where painted in two tones of blue the rest a cream\orange color. Allocated to Cluj Napoca , Arad and Bucuresti Calatori depots they proved to be reliable machines in pulling every kind of passenger trains. Unit number 584 is the first to be repaired and painted in CFR Marfa paint scheme at IRLU Braila depot , after some of these locos returned to CFR Marfa.
