Lothian Buses have introduced their tribute to the fallen on Wright Eclipse Gemini 811 - SN56AGO. In my opinion it is a rather uninspiring livery on the front and sides, the rear being the most impressive.
Lothian Buses Leyland Olympian-Alexander RH step entrance bus on Regent Road in Edinburgh with a 1 for Ocean Terminal. This vehicle was new to Lothian Buses in May 1990.

in waldport, oregon, they burned down the old high school... it wasn't an accident -- a new school was built up out of the tsunami hazard zone and the waldport fire department used the old school for fire training... i came across it after seeing the plume from miles away... the smoke was thick and intense, and acted like a cool filter for the sun...
#TRCX811 [F40PH-3CAT] and its four car UTDC BBL consist, operating as P61529, speed south out of Dania Beach on a Friday morning rush hour commute to Miami International Airport. With clear skies working to my advantage, the train rushes down Track 1 to give CSX M45328 a window to proceed south between passenger train movement. The rusted rails in the foreground lead to a vacant facility once served by CSX.
Five assorted EMD/M-K F40PH rebuilds are rostered under TriRail’s active fleet, having received overhaul at Progress Rail’s Patterson facility between 2016 and 2020, and first acquired by TriRail during their early years of operation in the late 1980’s-early 1990’s. TriRail is the only operator of the type in the state, while Orlando’s commuter railroad, SunRail, utilizes MPI MP32PH-Q’s for their operation in central Florida.
TRCX 811 was originally built as Amtrak F40PHR #379 in June 1981 as a result of the SDP40F trade-in to EMD. It would be acquired by TriRail during their early start-up years and is still actively used by the railroad [minus between 2015-2020 where it was sidelined and rebuilt]. Unlike TriRail’s Morrison-Knudsen F40s, 810 and 811 retain their original 56’ 2” frames from when they were built for Amtrak.

EXO 811 with cab car EXO 3004 is arriving at the Mont-Saint-Hilaire Station after VIA 24 passed. Normally running on the North Track, a rail train working nearby has caused it to run on the South Track.

Steam Engine #811 in Atchison, KS. This image was quite a challenge to capture...I wanted to get more of an angle to the right, but there was a sign blocking my view. In order to get this view I had to position my camera on top of a 4' pile of snow that was shoveled up from the parking lot close to where I setup. Precarious was an understatement but I shot one exposure and got my image. If you blow up the picture you'll see foundry markings on the front of the engine under the boiler that indicate LFM Co...this stands for Locomotive Finished Material Co which was located in Atchison. You can also see AT & SF, which stands for Atchison, Topeka, and Santa Fe Railroad. This beautiful engine is on display in a park on the outskirts of Atchison, KS. Volvo B7TL / Wright Eclipse Gemini number 811 (SN56 AGO) is seen on Waterfront Avenue on Service 47 which is at the start of its journey at Granton and in a little over an hour will arrive at Penicuik in the Pentland Hills.
Waterfront Avenue is a new road that runs north-east from West Harbour Road, near to the old Granton lighthouse through Saltire Square (to the left here) alongside Caroline House and onto West Granton Road, passing the new Scottish Gas Headquarters and Telford College of Further Education.
This regeneration, opened in 2004, covers 120 acres of prime waterfront land in Granton. Owned by the City of Edinburgh Council, Waterfront Edinburgh strives to promote economic and social regeneration, as well as the redevelopment of North Edinburgh. These new luxury flats with fine views across to Fife and south to Calton Hill and Arthur's Seat will easily fetch around £500,000 today.
811 looks impressive here and I feel the appearance of our buses in Edinburgh is returning to the plain and simple look of that when I was little in the 1970's.
