Saturday 29 October 2017 saw the final operational day of Optare Versas at Derby garage. The spondon flyer brand is to be updated, with a change in frequency (to coincide with changes to the ilkeston flyer) and improved vehicles.
The livery and brand was created by Ray Stenning's Best Impressions. The brand is considered the genesis of all route branding across the UK, with the scheme being a pioneer as a catalyst for customer growth in the mid-1990s.
All four vehicles are expected to be repainted for use at Langley Mill and Sutton depots.
809 is captured prior to leaving Derby.

Shapes and textures in the snow at Yellowstone National Park. When you photograph snow, it's important that you under expose the scene a bit so the snow does not go 'all white'. Here, you can see how I captured the detail in the snow banks.
AMT 809 is the last train of the morning from Mont-St-Hilaire. It is seen here with an unidentified dual mode Bomardier ALP-45 DP pushing five Bombardier multilevel cars past Montreal's skyline. In five minutes the train will finish its run in Montreal's Central station.

High Peak Mercedes Benz Citaro BK13XYG (809) seen as it heads away from Burlow with the 09:15 Buxton to Derby Transpeak.
809 was one of two ex Yourbus Citaros to carry Centrebus rather than Skyline colours from the ten which joined the High Peak fleet in 2019. The second vehicle has now been withdrawn, however 809 continues in service and is a regular on the Transpeak though appearances may become less common now that 805 has been repainted into route-specific livery to compliment the four Enviro 200s.
H809WKH was a Scania N113DRB / East Lancs H51/37F new as Hull City Transport number 809 in September 1990. The company was making losses and was subject to a hostile takeover bid from EYMS. The bid was rejected but, faced with escalating losses and increased competition, in December 1993 Hull City Council sold KHCT to Stockton-on-Tees based Cleveland Transit. This deal saw KHCT's employees take a 49% stake in the business. In November 1994 Cleveland Transit including KHCT was sold to Stagecoach.

Another one of the former Spondon vehicles I never caught up with, this one was a chance encounter whilst we headed to the nearest bus stop to board the 12 back to Derby!!
809 crosses the River Erewash on Tamworth Road in Long Eaton with a 15 to Old Sawley.
