Ilford Ortho 80 / Swabia.
I had that film sitting on a shelf for some time, so I tryed it eventually. Interestingly the „ortho“ character doesn't show a lot with these subjects. I'm surprised I even got some definition in the (blue) sky. Green things are rendered pretty normal. I also took shot of my (red) car, not shown here, and as expected it became almost black. But it seems it's really not at all vivible at first look when it comes to nature photos. I got some more rolls of ortho films, but I think it's another kind of film I will not shoot on a regular basis.

Built in the early 80's this custom designed house with a pool in the back and this drive through carport that faces the street.

The Audi 80 was built in this form from 1986 until 1992. This one has a 1.8 litre engine with an unregulated catalytic converter. With that some cars could meet the emission standards of that time.
Day 80
So, we have a decent collection of Lego. And they come to life when we turn our backs.
The depth of field's too shallow. But I needed the bokeh :D
And I'll be sure to head outdoors again, preferably under daylight. But it's hard without the cooperation of the weather. That's what we get for living in a tropical area.
And my strobist gear is all set with the exception of the Cactus V4s. yay :D

Bologna 06.04.2014: il passaggio da Bivio Crociali avviene tra il caratteristico fischio del 428 e la risposta del 474 con la tromba dal suono quasi "navale". Veramente simpatico questo scambio di saluti tra i colleghi dei due treni.
We have a contest at zbudujmy.to - "Złote Study", Golden Studs in english). There is one category whose winner is determined by voters and well, I got a tie with Jerac.
To resolve the tie, us both have to build something in two weeks, to the theme picked by our community.
The theme was... 80ties!
So here's my 80's Arcade.
Who says the A-10 is ugly?!
Photo: © Paul Larson 2014
By all outward appearances the A-10 Thunderbolt II is ugly, ungainly, and the very antithesis of the sleek modern warplane. But beauty is only skin deep and the A-10's looks are deceptive, for it is one of the deadliest, most effective aerial killers ever to take to the sky.-Lou Drendel from the 2010 book "A-10 Warthog."

The 122d Fighter Wing (122 FW) is a unit of the Indiana Air National Guard, stationed at Fort Wayne Air National Guard Station, Fort Wayne, Indiana. If activated to federal service, the Wing is gained by the United States Air Force Air Combat Command.

It is hosted by the winners of the previous competition and provides both skills competition and an opportunity to share in the camaraderie and fellowship within the A-10 community

Technically, this is not my second lock down birthday. Practically, it is. On this day last year, I gave my first on line zoom yoga lesson. Apart from a few months last summer / autumn between lock downs, I haven't worked face to face in my 'old' job since then.
My other memory from my birthday last year, is rolling a large swiss ball from the rowing club to my house so I could use it during the lock down. I didn't.
It was also a day of bright sunshine in advance of a glorious spring.
My sister sent these for my birthday. They still smell wonderful, despite visibly showing signs of being sent through the post from the Scilly Isles and arriving a couple of days ago.

Norfolk Southern's SD80MAC's had eluded me on my few trips to PA. These 5,000 horsepower behemoth's purchased for Conrail were almost exclusively assigned to local shuttle service in Cambria County. However, on our last trip down we got word they were loading out as the Rosebud mining prep plant in Portage, PA. Here is a view of the head end units slowly idling their train back to the tipple. Once done, the train will reverse out onto the main, and then reverse again headed to Johnstown.

The Wolseley 6/80, it revives memories of 1950's Police dramas now only seen on "Talking Pictures".
One of these cars would heel over as it rushed out of Scotland Yard with its bell ringing. It would be driven by an immaculately uniformed officer with the steely-eyed Commander in the back, it was always life and death stuff but the good guys always won and the shifty looking bloke with the pencil 'tash' was bundled into the back.
This one has probably not led such a life, it was photographed in Lowsonford back in the 1970's It is still on DVLA who inform us it was new in December 1952 and has a 2215cc engine, it was around from at least 2008 when it received a new V5C registration document. The car is finished in a very deep metallic green.
