Here is a portrait of the exquisite custom 7-string guitar, handmade by legendary Sonoma county luthier Taku Sakashta, completed in 2009. Sadly, this gifted artist was murdered in 2010 while working late in his shop.
The intense thought and musical craft that Taku applied to his work elevated his instruments to a completely different level.
This is my personal custom guitar that took Taku 2-1/2 years to complete. When the guitar was finished, Taku said he would need to hear the guitar in my practice room through my own amp rig so he could complete the set up. He and his charming wife showed up at my house, Taku holding his bag of tools. He immediately went to work making tweaks here and there while I played the guitar. Together, we dialed in just the right voice through the amp and it sounded amazing. I felt like I had purchased a high-end custom suit and the master tailor was making his final critical adjustments.
On that evening I could also see the spark in Taku's eye as he watched his creation come alive in the hands of its new owner. It had taken years of planning, building, and refinement in his hands for countless hours; now he would be leaving it behind at a new home, and I could sense his love and attachment for the instrument.
Shortly after, I was crushed to hear the news of Taku's death at the hands of a violent offender. I will skip over those details but you can search them online to learn more.
The guitar is a tangible record of Taku's contribution, however brief, to the world of music. Every time I hold the instrument, I replay in my mind some very fond memories of a friend and artist who touched my soul.

-7°C doesn't look very cold but if you try to turn on the filter it starts to be bad. But not as bad :-)

Actual sunrise didn't occur till a half hour after this photo was taken. This is just a different perspective of a couple other images I had posted earlier from the same session. I think I have another one I like that I'll eventually post also to my collection. This morning had such great cloud cover and lit up with the most outstanding pink hue that was even detectable before this amount of light, actually pretty much dark the red was evident. So beautiful.

25.03.2023 ||Szlak Čadca — Mosty u Jablunkova|| 363 506-7 (ex 163 005-2) razem 363 509-1 (ex 163 036-7) prowadzą razem z 181 069-6 na popychu ładowny skład węglarek przez Przełęcz Jabłonkowską. Większość cięższych pociągów towarowych na tym odcinku jest prowadzona z popychem pomiędzy stacjami Čadca oraz Třinec. Wynika to z bardzo dużego nachylenia przekraczającego 20 promili oraz różnicy poziomów wynoszącej około 200 m. Pociągi popychane ze stacji Čadca często zatrzymują się w stacji Mosty u Jablunkova, aby popych mógł się odpiąć od składu. Natomiast składy jadące od stacji Třinec częściej zjeżdżają z popychaczem aż do Čadcy. Najwyższym punktem na tym odcinku jest kilkusetmetrowy tunel przed Mostami u Jablunkova jadąc od strony Čadcy. Odcinek po słowackiej stronie jest aktualnie w trakcie przebudowy. Stąd zamknięcie jednego toru szlakowego i konieczność jazdy po torze lewym w kierunku Czech. Warto wspomnieć również, że stałe popychy przez przełęcz zapewnia ČD Cargo leciwymi już lokomotywami serii 181. W roli popychaczy te maszyny spełniają się jednak na tyle dobrze, że jeszcze przez najbliższe lata będzie można je tutaj spotkać każdego dnia. Ruch jest tutaj na tyle duży, że jadąc w ciemno na kilka godzin, można bez problemu złapać przynajmniej kilkanaście pociągów różnych rodzajów.
