I got quite a few things done today as well as spent some time with some wonderful friends. It's my first week of classes and I am excited to get into a new routine that involves even more photography. I am taking a photojournalism class where we will be choosing one subject or theme to photograph for the entire semester. I haven't the slightest idea what I'll do, but we'll see. It could be a nice project for exploring and meeting new people to photograph, hopefully it will make me less shy with my camera.
I also have a printmaking class this semester and I am really excited to try it for the first time, although I bought the supplies today and that really hurt my bank account, ha
as for here, light and the way it changes features is so intriguing to me. I used a flash light and pushed my face in and out of the pool of light, experimenting with the way it curved around my cheeks and eyelashes.

Whenever I drive down the A9 I am always 'going' somewhere. This time with no planned destination I was determined to stop and photograph some of the stunning scenery that I have seen and driven past previously. Iain and I spotted the top part of these falls on our way south and noted that they were close to Layby 79 but that the light was poor. On our return, the sky was a stormy black with a perfect rainbow framing the falls. We abandoned the car in our reference Layby and started a fast ascent of the hill to get beyond the huge pylons which were prominent in shot. Though they look to be almost at the roadside the pylons were somewhat further away and by the time we had cleared them the rainbow was gone. The sun, however, was intermittently breaking through and casting some warm light onto these pretty falls and the vegetation, showing the first hints of autumn colouring.
