High Peak Optare Versa V1100 T23TYB (786) seen as it passes the war memorial in Charlesworth with the 12:38 394 from Glossop to Stepping Hill Hospital in Stockport.

Running by way of High Lane and Marple, the 394 is one of only a handful of services which High Peak operate into Greater Manchester. When the company was created in April 2012 it held substantial mileage in this area, however work has been lost and subsequently regained with the demise of GHA and Speedwell before being lost again. The 394 is a former Speedwell route and presently observes a two-hourly timetable on weekdays only with funding from DCC and TfGM after High Peak withdrew their hourly commercial service in early 2016.

For some reason, the 394 normally appears to be operated using a larger single rather than a Solo. 786 arrived at High Peak in June as Yellow Buses rid itself of members of this batch.

Wow 786 miles to Inverness. I just love an informative sign!! The problem is I wasnt planning to go to Inverness on this day. Perhaps signs should be more interactive so that you can just ask them how far something is and they will be able to tell you. That would be cool!
