This pool was fed by the Nile. When the filter wasn't clogged with silt, the water was pretty clear. I took this photo because I wanted to show how murky the water could be. Luckily, it was still treated water.

It's been a while since I found any useful numbers. In that time, I had 1-50 printed up as a vanity photobook which I'm really pleased about. Getting that in the post spurred me on to get back out and get back on track. So here's a #76 that had people wondering why I was sitting in the middle of the pavement.

Preserved Umbauwagen Class 4yg Type B4yg-58 1958 built 2nd Class coach No.76 148 Ffm (i.e. Frankfurt am Main) in DB chromium-oxide green with 'Minden Deutz MD36 leicht' bogies at on a steam special run by the Hanau Museum Railway from Hanau Hbf to Neustadt an der Weinstrasse, 7 May 2016. After the end of WWII, the DB had a critical shortage of coaches and as financial resources were very limited, it was decided to rebuild large numbers of old coaches of the Landerbahn (i.e. the State Railways before the formation of the DR in 1920) and similar designs built in the early years of the DR. 6,582 2- and 3-axled coaches were rebuilt into Class 3yg 3-axled coaches for local and branch line services but something better was needed for semi-fast and cross country services. It was decided to rebuild bogie coaches (mainly of Prussian or Bavarian design) using the underframe to Class 4yg (though altered to a standard length where necessary) with a new body. If the coach was fitted with Prussian standard bogies, these were retained but were fitted with roller bearings. Others had their bogies replaced by US-pattern 'Schwanenhals' ones or Minden-Deutz MD36 leicht bogies (though some already had the latter. A protoype was converted to a BC4yg (2nd/3rd composite) in 1956 and two more to AB4yg's (1st/2nd composite) in 1957. Production rebuilds followed in 1957-60 until a total of 1,842 (including prototypes) was reached. There were three types produced: B4yg (2nd class), AB4yg (1st/2nd) and BPw4yg (2nd class luggage). The last was not withdrawn until the 1990's.
r. 3000 p. n. l. a první obyvatelé byly Pelasgové.
