Les jobs à la con engendrent souvent le désespoir, la dépression et le haine de soi. Ce sont des formes de violence spirituelle qui s’en prennent à l’essence même de l’humain.
Bullshit Jobs - David Graeber
Golden-crowned Kinglet (Regulus satrapa) A small warbler like migratory songbird, not much larger than a Hummingbird. The male Kinglets are able to part their golden crown and display this bright reddish/orange feathering during times of aggression or agitation.
This is the only time I have seen this behavior and it was in response to another Kinglet landing to feed to close. Most times this reddish orange cap is barley visible inside the yellow crown of the male... I consider myself extremely lucky because it only lasted for a second or two.
This is an older image that I have reprocessed...
While I was photographing the Little Green Heron on the log, another juvenile flew into a nearby tree.
Leopard (Phalanta phalantha) (මහ දිවිපුල්ලියා) is a medium-sized butterfly with a wingspan of 50–55 mm with a tawny colour and marked with black spots. The underside of the butterfly is more glossy than the upper and both the male and female are similar looking. A migratory butterfly and is found all over Sri Lanka, belongs to Nymphalidae family.
Thanks to all who take the time to comment etc...it is appreciated.

I've reprocessed this shot with newer software to post it. I don't know what brought these two together but the mallard got the better of situation as the Osprey was soon high-tailing it!
The former Northern Pacific searchlights stood tall at EAST LOUISVILLE on the morning of August 3, 2022 guarding the turnout into the siding. Fifteen minutes before 08:00, #BNSF7689 [ES44DC] swings around the corner headed out of Helena, MT, the morning light shining down, unimpeded by the mountains to the east. 7689, along with a similarly painted C44-9W and SD70MAC in H2 paint, are powering an eastbound 112 car empty unit crude oil train, destined for someplace out east, roaring up the grade towards the summit of Winston Hill.
Facing towards the twin head searchlight stands it’s eventual replacement, a Safetrain “Vader”; two other Vader’s are similarly situated next to the other two searchlights on the other end of the control point. It’s was a sign of the times, the end of MRL’s tenure on the Northern Pacific mainline was near. Out with the blue, in with the orange. EAST LOUISVILLE was far from being the only control point on the MRL 2nd Subdivision with this sort of scenario, and I’m glad to say that I was able to at least frame some of the old searchlights before their imminent removal from service.
