"A Christmas Carol"

The classic tale of Bobanezer Scrooge and the Jawas of Christmas Past, Present and Future

This is the first in a series, the idea of which was spawned by the release of Bounty Hunter Speeder Bike Battle Pack.

I never had a clear idea of the scale I was building in, and only a basic idea of what he would look like, so he evolved over time.

As he got bigger he needed constant redesigning to prevent him collapsing under his own weight.

It's been nearly 5 years in the making, with a lot of learning along the way.

This is the second mech in this series inspired by Bounty Hunter Speeder Bike Battle Pack.

I was reluctant to start this one as IG-88 has been done many times before and I wasn't sure how to tackle it and it stayed unfinished for a long time whilst I worked on the other mechs in this series.

The upper torso with it's space for the minifig and the shoulder joint gave me no end of grief but seeing IG-11 in action in Episode 1 of the Mandalorian helped me realise how he would move in battle (instead of the stiffly awkward way he was portrayed in Empire) and that the important thing was to try to capture this sense of motion.

Anyway, here he is and I'm glad to get this one out of the way haha.

I hope you like it!

In a shed to the left, almost totally hidden by the pole, is 71515, now preserved.

They were very excited to be out and about on a nice winter day, galloping all over the place, but kind enough to pose for a bit....

The rear of the bike now features a tail fin and printed controls for the driver.

Swalwell Disposal Point, constructed on the site of the former Swalwell Garesfield colliery at Dunston, was on the opposite side of the River Derwent from Derwenthaugh shed and exchange yard. It was opened by the Ministry of Fuel & Power in 1945 to handle opencast coal from County Durham and South Northumberland. The NCB Opencast Executive ran the operation from April 1952, sub-contracting in February 1954 to Mechanical Navvies Ltd, and from July 1968 to Johnson’s (Chopwell) Ltd. Transferred from Broomhill Disposal Point (DP), Northumberland, in August 1951, work-stained William Bagnall Austerity saddle tank '75167' (W/No.2755 built in 1944) adds to the general pollution of the Dunston area in February 1968, as it goes about its shunting work at Swalwell DP.

Hey Lego, Where's Zuckuss?

This souped-up high powered speedster (nicknamed Thunderstruck) was originally set 75167, Bounty Hunter Speeder Bike Battle Pack before I changed the main color to yellow with some parts substitutions and small changes. I used the stud shooters as air intakes on the front of the bike, while adding printed lightning bolt pieces on the rear of the bike for identification purposes. (Besides, they look really cool.)

Alright, I'm spamming you guys now. Nothing really wrong with the thumbnails this time, I just didn't like them as much as adding my own. But there is a great skit in the video and I think it's pretty funny. You guys should watch it via this LINK!
