Castillo de los Mendoza o, sencillamente, como Castillo de Manzanares el Real, es un palacio-fortaleza de origen bajomedieval que se encuentra en el municipio de Manzanares el Real , al pie de la Sierra de Guadarrama y junto al río Manzanares, que en ese tramo es retenido en el embalse de Santillana.
Edificado en el siglo XV sobre una iglesia románico-mudéjar, que quedó integrada dentro de la estructura, fue concebido como la residencia palaciega de la Casa de Mendoza, uno de los linajes más influyentes de Castilla durante la Baja Edad Media y el Renacimiento. Sustituyó a un castillo anterior, que estaba situado en un enclave cercano, propiedad igualmente de la citada familia.
En su construcción participó el arquitecto Juan Guas (1430-1496), quien utilizó trazas gótico isabelinas, con influencias hispano-musulmananas. Está considerado como el precedente del Palacio del Infantado (Guadalajara),obra clave de la arquitectura renacentista española, donde el citado autor dejó definido el prototipo palaciego del reinado de los Reyes Católicos.

Sunrise across Langstone Harbour on the Hampshire Coast near Portsmouth. A early start to the day is worth it when the sky is as beautiful as this. I normally struggle to find compositions like this but for some reason, whether it be that the planets aligned or just pure luck, everything fell into place without me having to do anything other than park the car up and walk a few paces. I decided to use my telephoto Canon EF 70 - 200mm F/4L USM lens rather than my wide angle lens as I could not get any closer to where I wanted the bottom of the composition to be, placing the two swans in the bottom right hand corner. The S bend in the tidal river gives the composition some flow and a leading line with the pinkish hue to the water giving the who image a soft warm glow.

El Guadalix es un río español, afluente del Jarama y éste del Tajo, que discurre íntegramente por la Comunidad de Madrid. Nace en la sierra de la Morcuera, a más de 2000 m de altitud, dentro del municipio de Rascafría. Esta alineación montañosa pertenece geológicamente a la vertiente sur de la sierra de Guadarrama

These wonderful oak leaves cover the forest floor even now. Leftovers of winter. I really love the texture and colors of these fallen leaves, especially when they are a little faded, so I had to take a photo of the sight! :o)
Ezek a csodás tölgyfa levelek az erdő alját bortítják most is. A tél maradékai. Nagyon szeretem e lehullott levelek textúráját és színeit, különösen amikor már egy kicsit megfakulnak, ezért muszáj volt lefotóznom a látványt! :o)
