He happened to be standing in front of a local pub and I approached and asked if I could take his photo.
He complied and was quite patient as I snapped his photo. I like to think he was "reflecting" on a beautiful day.
I like tight portraits as some of you might know. The reason why I went tight with this shot is I found the serenity of his face mixed with the reflection on his glasses to be the driving force behind me asking to take his photo. So I just concentrated on that area. I'm training myself to shoot "wider".
I took this picture through my sliding glass doors to my back yard. Light rain.. I have 3 of these coming to my feeders now. 3/11/10 - Titusville, Florida
Sunset from Zabriskie Point, Death Valley NP, CA, USA
Made during our recent Death Valley workshop. This was our first evening, and we had a great sunset from Zabriskie Point. This was a very contrasty scene, so I bracketed five frames, two stops apart, and blended them with Lightroom's HDR Merge.
