It is ... what do they call it ... ah, BRISK this morning. I can't see across the street thanks to continuing road hugging fog and the temperature is, for old California wooses a bone-chilling 39°. In other words, all's right with the world, and I'm dumpster diving in archives for an Acorn Woodpecker that always brings a smile. I remember taking this shot: he - and it is the male - kept circling the top of this 25 foot post, and refused to let me get a full portrait. These guys are characters without knowing it, and I love 'em. I'm definitely going to Ginder Gap won Mt. Diablo where there are (were) three families of Acorn Woodpeckers for all the years I climbed that hill, and it was rare to return home without a "prize."
Every year, Sydney has the Sculptures by the sea exhibition on the coastal walk that goes from Bondi Beach to Bronte Beach. The exhibition part of the walk is about 2kms along quite a spectacular area overlooking the Pacific Ocean/Tasman Sea. The exhibition is usually run at this time of year for about 3 weeks. Is there a better back drop for such an exhibition? I think not!
There was quite a crowd as this is a popular tourist attraction and I had to wait many times for a clear shot at some exhibits.

The expression "when the rubber hits the road" is heard frequently, but when the steel wheel hits the (steel, in this case) diamonds where two tracks cross, it's definitely worth a stop, look and listen!
