A former Greater Manchester Transport, but new to Lancashire United, Leyland Fleetline seen in Huddersfield bus station on the 538 service from Halifax.
At deregulation, GM Buses declined to take on many buses as they needed a smaller fleet. Meanwhile Yorkshire Rider declined to take on the leases of several of their newer buses - mostly Olympians. The result? Yorkshire Rider bought around 70 - 80 buses which weren't required by GM Buses. Fleetlines were allocated to Halifax, Atlanteans went to Leeds and Bramley.
New in red and grey Lancashire United livery as 505, it became 6921 in the 1981 LUT fleet renumbering and ended up in orange and brown PTE livery. It is depicted here after First split the Yorkshire Rider fleet into its own operating units and carries the Calderline name that was given to the Halifax and Todmorden fleets.
