Mittlerweile kommen schon zahlreiche neue Stadler Triebwagen in Slowenien zum Einsatz. Doch die aktuellen Neubaufahrzeuge reichen noch nicht, um die alten 711, 713 und 813 vollständig zu verdrängen. So kommt es auf den meisten Dieselstrecken zum Mischbetrieb mit neuen 610 und den alten Fahrzeugen. Doch die SŽ hat kürzlich weitere Züge bestellt, was in absehbarer Zeit zur vollständigen Abstellung der Altfahrzeuge führen dürfte.
Erfreulicherweise sind zumindest die 713 rund um Trebnje / Novo Mesto seit einiger Zeit alle sauber und werden auch regelmäßig gereinigt, was in anderen Landesteilen bei den alten Fahrzeugen leider nicht der Fall ist.
Nachdem wir am Morgen des 05.08.2022 zunächst zwei neue 610 vor die Linse bekamen, schickte man uns dann doch auch noch Altfahrzeuge. 713 126 fährt als LP 3237 aus Novo Mesto in dem kleinen Ort Petrovo vas bei Semič Richtung Metilka.

In den letzten Jahren teilten sich die alten 713 und die neuen Flirts der Baureihe 610 die Leistungen auf der Dieselstrecke von Ljubljana über Trebnje und Novo mesto nach Metilka sowie der Zweigstrecke nach Sevnica. Doch nun soll auch die zweite Bauserie der Flirts ihre Zulassung erhalten haben und damit zeitnah die verbliebenen 713 ablösen. Grund genug, nochmal einen Kurztrip in die Region zu starten, um vielleicht ein letztes Mal die schönen roten Triebwagen abzulichten. LP 3210 von Metlika nach Ljubljana verewigte ich auf dem 162 Meter langen Viadukt in Velika Loka.
In recent years, the old 713 and the new Flirts of the 610 series shared service on the diesel line from Ljubljana via Trebnje and Novo mesto to Metlika, as well as the branch line to Sevnica. But now the second series of Flirts has also received its certification and will soon replace the remaining 713s. Reason enough to take another short trip to the region, perhaps to photograph the beautiful red railcars one last time. I photographed LP 3210 from Metlika to Ljubljana on the 162-meter-long viaduct in Velika Loka.

Semič ist ein rund 2000 Einwohner zählender Ort in Südostslowenien, der an einem Hang erbaut wurde. Auch die Eisenbahnstrecke nach Metlika führt durch das Dorf. Die Züge halten dort auch, der Bahnhof wurde allerdings kürzlich zum Haltepunkt degradiert, Kreuzungen sind somit nicht mehr möglich. 713 102 hat als LP 3215 den Halt bereits hinter sich und rollt nun bergab Richtung Metlika. Rechts fällt der Blick auf die Kirche Sv. Štefan, die 1228 erstmals erwähnt wurde.

Am Morgen des 24.08.2023 trafen wir zufällig den Altlack-713 als zweiten Zugteil des 3205 an. In Trebnje sollte dieser abgekuppelt werden und solo weiter nach Sevnica fahren. Wir folgten dem besonderen Fahrzeug. Die Rückfahrt ab Sevnica als LP 3385 ist lichttechnisch nicht ganz einfach, doch ein Stück nach dem Haltepunkt Jelovec fanden wir eine passende Stelle.
On a fairly warm and nice November 2, 1976 SOO 713 works an extra east with 9 cars near Trout Lake. The 40 foot boxes were for wood chip loading which was a fairly big thing up here for a few years before it petered out and reverted back to pulp in gons for the most part. Most of the last loads to come off the ex DSS&A Sault Ste. Marie branch were chips out of Rexford in the late 60's.
