La serie estava formada per les locomotores 7101-7158, construïdes per Alsthom, Fives-Lille i CEM entre els anys 1955 i 1958.
Dues unitats de la serie van participar en els records de velocitat sobre rails:
- CC7121 amb una velocitat de 243 km/h durant l'any 1954.
- CC7107 conjuntament amb la BB9004 amb una velocitat de 331km/h l'any 1955.
Les últimes locomotores de la serie en servei van traccionar trens de mercaderies fins a la retirada de la última a finals del 2001.

Due to its ownership, Pacific Sogo brand was renamed into Far East Sogo in 2016, while the corporate name is still named Pacific SOGO Department Stores Co., Ltd. The company targeted Far East Sogo for middle-up to high-end customers, alongside its flagship brand, Far Eastern Department Stores, targeted for low-middle and middle customers, and The Mall, targeted for high-end customers.
