Before the family moved to Happer St. when my mother was a girl, the family lived for a number of years in a little white house on Estrella St. down just north of the freeway as I recall. The house is still there or was the last time I was in El Paso and I imagine the yard and neighbor hood is still much the same as it was in the 1920's and 30's, very dusty, very modest and Mexico ish. The address is 708 N. Estrella St. and they lived there from 1922 till 1934 when Mom was 12 and they moved to Happer St.
