One of my recent shootings in the last year with this Lamborghini Aventador!

I really like the new Lambo. What do you think?

MNS 41and SOO 2413 grind out of Trout Lake with 8200 tons on the morning of October 22, 1983. With more pickups to be made along the way this 909 will be a monster by the time Gladstone is reached late in the afternoon. The MNS SD39's were sure footed but didn't have a lot of giddy up after about 25mph. That's where you really started to notice the extra 700hp you'd have on a more conventional SD40/40-2.

In 2009, Progress Rail rebuilt a pair of SD50's to each accommodate two Caterpillar diesel engines, one 700hp and the other 3,600hp to form the 4,300hp PR43C.

PRLX 4300 and 4301 ran in demonstrator service on NS mostly on runs out of Peoria, IL, but they did venture elsewhere. For a period of time in 2010, the PR43C's were paired with a standard SD50 on trains 34z/35z operating between Decatur, IL and Lafayette, IN. Seen here at Marshfield, IN, the trio seems to have their tonnage well in hand, but appearances can be deceiving. Apparently enough failures occurred that the pair was withdrawn from service, placed into storage and eventually purged from the NS roster within a few years.

What a beast! Over 700hp at the engine in this beauty!

The Charger That Changes Lives...

Yesterday I attended the the 14th Annual Cruisin' for A Cure Canada;

Something I have been a huge supporter of in the past. The Car Show That Saves Men's Lives, which is held annually at the Powerade center in Brampton.

Yesterday was the first one in three years as Coiid shut it down and this is the first one since 2019. the turn out was amazing with over 400 cars participating and a smaller than typical crowd of only 3000. hopefully next year will be better.

This is a shot of a 1970 Dodge Charger Sleeper car. it boasts almost 700hp and is a tuned racing machine.

Please tell your husbands, fathers, uncles, grandfather brothers and any man you care about to get a PSA test it changes the odds from 5 % survivability to 93%.

Prostate cancer is the second leading cause of cancer death in American men, behind lung cancer. About 1 man in 41 will die of prostate cancer. Prostate cancer can be a fatal disease, but due to early detection most men diagnosed with prostate cancer will not die from it.

74% of prostate cancers are diagnosed early at Stage I and II. The probability of surviving prostate cancer at least five years after diagnosis is about 93% in Canada.

For more information check out the website for the car show.

These two aircrafts were the ideas of Sasha Bobek, a young aviator and the building was funded by the Shetsov company. The Gangster was based on his racing hydroplane, the Sh-5b, which he loved for its powerful 'W' engine, however, it lacked manouverability.

That's when he thought why would aircraft need two wings, the Sh-3 bomber already only has one. His idea was that with only one wing you create less drag and the plane would lose less speed during turns. He also found that this plane could be an excellent long range aircraft due to its large space behind the cockpit, a 700l internal tank could be fitted there. With another 300l drop tank the range could be extended to about 2000km, but only at 160kph.

The new wings have bigger control surfaces but still, during its first flight the Gangster could easily maintain 300kph, even though the Shetsov company only provided a watered-down (480hp) version of the 700hp racing engine for the project. With the Sh-5b's engine Bobek estimated that this aircraft could get close to 400kmh or even exceed it, but that's currently only a dream for him..

However, things may soon change as the military showed interest in the aircraft.

This is a rebuilt Narrow gauge ZDM 4a backing onto her train at Kangra. She will be working the 1825 to Baijnath Paprola.

The ZDM 4a is rebuilt from the ZDM 3 and was re engined with a CLW straight 6 giving 700hp. They also have a Voith hydraulic transmission and a 1b-b1 bogie wheel arrangement.

The Chittaranjan Locomotive Works are situated in West Bengal about 150 miles from Calcutta.

There are 24 of these good looking locomotives still in service and they also work the Shimla line.

The town of Kangra is situated about mid way along the Kangra Valley Railway. It is a remote town situated about 6k north of the station and is seldom visited by western tourists. I based myself there for my 5 day stay and didn't see another western face.
