C'est à partir du jour où l'on peut concevoir un autre état de choses qu'une lumière neuve tombe sur nos peines et sur nos souffrances et que nous décidons qu'elles sont insupportables.

My second-ever whale watch excursion was rather uneventful in my mind as it didn't match up to my first-ever experience the year before. But I did see this fascinating creature, a Mola Mola or Ocean Sunfish. Can't tell the scale here, but these guys can be HUGE, averaging almost 6 feet in length, and weighing on average from 550 - 2205 lbs (247-1000kg). In addition, they are one of the heaviest known bony fishes. This one was right alongside the boat. I was zoomed back as far as I could go and I couldn't even get the creature all in. The mouth doesn't actually close, so while it looked like it was kind of dead to me, it's actually just in a typical behavior basking in the sun at the water's surface. Among other things, they eat jelly fish, which were also right alongside the boat at the time.
