H53 with a pair of SD40-2's has just crossed Rockville bridge and is making the turn into Enola yard as 67X departs Enola with empty oil cans for BNSF on the dreary afternoon of Dec. 28, 2018. NS 8024 with a loaded coal drag was parked here an hour prior.

CP 7016 takes charge of the highly anticipated 67X empty oil cans across northern Ohio which brought a lot of fans out, especially at this location in Cleveland on the former NKP. Thanks to all who tracked this movement.

Empty oil train 67X is doing every bit of track speed on the NS Chicago Line just east of Huron, OH as it highballs west towards Chicago with CP heritage unit 7016 on the point. These engines sure do look sharp. Taken 02/16/20.

NS empty oil train 67X runs up the Royalton Branch past the site of the decommissioned Three Mile Island Nuclear Power Plant near Middletown, PA. On this day in 1979, reactor 2 had a partial meltdown, almost making much of Central Pennsylvania an uninhabitable wasteland.
After working in Newberry for the day I checked my phone after work to receive work of 18A with an SD45-2 leader. Making the 2 hour drive to Tipton I made it with time to spare to shoot the 1074 leading 67X and 1704 leading 18A.

The PRR style position light signals at Summerhill, PA have less than two weeks of life in them before Norfolk Southern cuts and dismantles these and their comrades on the famed West Slope.
In between storms, frequent lightning and even some tornadoes I had the opportunity to set up my lights. Knowing 67X was heading west but being slowed by flash flood warnings. Normally heritage or any kind of special movements run on the Pittsburgh Line either just before or after I get there or some other odd reason. Not this time!
Empty oil train 67X curves its way through the flats near downtown Cleveland with an old, somewhat rare UP dash-9 leading.
The sad remains of half of the MP 309 bracket mast signals still stand leaning and turned while a NS 67X cruises west by the hallowed ground. 12/31/17
NS 67X is westbound on main 1 by MP 295 on the NS Chicago main in Toledo. Rather than the typical CP power on this empty oil train a clean UP GE leads the way. Toledo, OH 8/8/19

IC 1396 is an open star cluster embedded in a galactic nebula. The entire complex, often called the Elephant's Trunk Nebula, is a diffuse emission nebula. It is located in the constellation Cepheus and is about 2400 light years from Earth.
The nebula is huge, so it takes about 150 years for light to travel through it.
The entire area is crisscrossed by countless globules, dust knots and dark nebulae that barely let any light through. The most dramatic part of this is the Elephant's Trunk Nebula (IC 1396A, VdB142) in the lower part of the image.

The Pinwheel Galaxy (also known as Messier 101) is a face-on spiral galaxy 21 million light-years away from Earth in the constellation Ursa Major. It was discovered by Pierre Méchain in 1781. M101 is a large galaxy, with a diameter of 170,000 light-years. By comparison, the Milky Way has a diameter of between 100,000 and 120,000 light-years.

NGC 2359 (also known as Thor's Helmet) is an emission nebula in the constellation Canis Major. The nebula is approximately 12.000 light years away and 30 light-years in size. The central star is the Wolf-Rayet star WR7, an extremely hot star thought to be in a brief pre-supernova stage of evolution. Its interactions with a nearby large molecular cloud have contributed to the more complex shape and curved bow-shock structure of Thor's Helmet.

NS 67X passes through the shadows of where 307 once stood at Derry, PA three years after the old PT 307.4 signal fell. The numberboard from the signal that I have in my possession stands next to the old signal bridge abutment.
About a minute after NS 22W cleared, NS 67X rolled by west with a standard cab SD70 leading. The train is passing under the now-opened RT 217 bridge, with only two abutments remaining from the old bridge, which is in the final stages of being torn down.
