I hope you all have a safe and restful Christmas and New Year, here's to a better 2021. This is a loaded coal past Water Orton, presumably Immingham - Rugeley. From the days when we had coal trains and snow.
Freightliner 66545 pauses at Bedford for a crew change, with the 6Y73 1850 Toton North Yard to Hendon engineers train.
In lovely Sunday sunshine, Frieghtliner's 66516 leads 6Y54 from Toton through Wash, Chinley, on its way to the weekend worksite at Great Rocks Junction to deliver a load of ballast. 66545 brings up the rear.
First visit to Wash for 2022, looking forward to a full evening or two here once the clocks go forwards. The sun doesn't quite hang on long enough for the DCR empties 40 minutes later, but that'll change come April.
4M86 Ipswich to East Midlands Gateway. Class 66 in Freightliner green/Yellow livery heads north with an Intermodal bound for Eastmids.
66545 sits at the exit to the Heeley loop waiting time to enter the possession area around Dore Station Junction which appears to be in the process of being upgraded for two lines coming off to the Hope Valley line.
On a line not known for seeing loco hauled trains since the 33/1s left in 1988 and the demise of the class 47 hauled inter regional trains I was quite surprised to find no less than 8 locos between Wool and Moreton yesterday. Seen here front to back, or more precisely furthest to nearest 66551, 66545 and 66712. Immediately beneath me was one of two Colas 70s at the end of the line.

Freightliner's #66545 powers her way through Barnetby station and approaches Wrawby Junction leading an eastbound coal train while #66089 waits for a path east with a train of coal destined for the steel works in Scunthorpe on the morning of Friday the 7th of September 2012.
A well known location and 66516 leads a ballast train into the sun and bound for the Peak Forest area with 66545 at the rear 15:05 Toton North Yard to Great Rocks Jn at Totley Tunnel Box

Green trees and hard working 66's!
Searching for some train movement suitable with the sun position we made a stop on Main Street in Melton Mowbray. Unfortunately 2 trains got cancelled which made only this one remaining. With a 30 minute late running 4L93 intermodal service from Lawley Street F.L.T. to Felixstowe North Freightliner 66545 heads through Melton Mowbray.

Op zoek naar interessante treintjes goed voor de zon kwamen we terecht op Main Street in Melton Mowbray alwaar Freightliner 66545 aan onze lenzen passeert als 30min vertraagde trein 4L93 van Lawley Street F.L.T. naar Felixstowe North. Helaas werd een tweetal andere treinen opgeheven.

Freightliner's 66545 and 66520 provide the haulage for 6Y67, 13:33 Bescot Up Sidings - Haddenham & Thame Parkway. The train was conveying ballast and sleepers for engineering works on the Chiltern Line. The ensemble is seen crossing the River Avon near Old Milverton on Saturday 29th March.

Approaching Whiston station heading eastbound, Freightliner Class 66 loco 66545 hauls the 4G99 container train from Seaforth Container Terminal to Hams Hall Parsec
A couple more shots from the engineering works over the past few weekends.
Around 22:00 a top and tail freightliner move draws to a halt on a Belmont to Meadowhall service. The driver for the engineering works catches a lift into the possession. 66545 leading, Colas crane DR78226 in the consist.

Freightliner liveried Class 66 No's 66534, 66544, 66598 and 66545 round the curve at Eaton Lane with the 08.15 Leeds (Balm Road) - Whitemoor Yard light engine move.
Freightliner Class 66/5 No. 66545 passes Chinley as it works the 6Y51 14:33 Chinley South Junction to Crewe P.A.D. engineers train on 14th November 2021.
66561 has recently arrived as 0Z61 from Wentloog. The 6Z60 09.25 service from Westbury runs slowly into the sidings with 66545.
Engineering works in the Heaton Lodge area led to a number of diverted engineering trains across the Hope Valley this morning.
The first caught me by surprise as I was waiting for a TPE service and 66545 came around the corner.
6Y91 Bradley Wood Junction to Toton North Yard
Long day today, crap pathing but that’s how it goes sometimes, the weather made up for it. A belter of a day made for a glorious run along the Ayrshire coast, over Annbank and the GSW with 6K11 Uddingston - Carlisle NY, seen here waiting time in Falkland DGL ☀️☀️☀️ 90 mins waiting for a taxi at the yard though, cheers 😒😤
A Felixstowe to Ditton Freightliner passes through the cutting at Brantham Hall Farm, in the hands of 66589 and 66545. There were some containers on it, but towards the rear of the train. I noticed this stretch where it is possible to see over the vegetation while walking past yesterday, came back with my step this morning to give it a go.
