I have stopped here a few times. The coffee is great and a good place to stop and warm up after walking the streets of Cheyenne.
back in the winters of 1994 & 1995 the WC leased several LS&I U30C's to help out with all of their all-rail ore trains. 3011 was sandwiched between two SD45's on this empty train tied down at Parkland/South Itasca.
40 loads of cement trail a trio of Union Pacific road motors moments from knocking down the intermediate at 366.5 just below Monolith on the eastside of Tehachapi. The train originated in Mojave with loads from Creal and Monolith making up the Stockton bound train. The intermediate searchlights here were retired and removed only a few months later.
