Dendrobium is a genus of mostly epiphytic and lithophytic orchids in the family Orchidaceae. It is a very large genus, containing more than 1,800 species that are found in diverse habitats throughout much of south, east and southeast Asia, including China, Japan, India, the Philippines, Indonesia, Australia, New Guinea, Vietnam and many of the islands of the Pacific. Orchids in this genus have roots that creep over the surface of trees or rocks, rarely having their roots in soil. Up to six leaves develop in a tuft at the tip of a shoot and from one to a large number of flowers are arranged along an unbranched flowering stem. Between one and a large number of resupinate or non-resupinate flowers are arranged along an unbranched flowering stem and may be short or long-lived. The flowers may be white, green, yellow, or pink to purple, often with contrasting colours in the labellum. The sepals and petals are usually free from and more or less similar to each other but markedly different from the labellum. They have adapted to a wide variety of habitats, from the high altitudes in the Himalayan mountains to lowland tropical forests and even to the dry climate of the Australian desert. 1165
The migrant hawker is one of the smaller species of hawker dragonflies. It can be found away from water but for breeding it prefers still or slow-flowing water and can tolerate brackish sites. The flight period is from July to the end of October.
Suffolk. 31st August 2017
For this weeks MM I have used a purple and a gold roller pen placed on gold reflective foil using nature lighting on a rainy morning in my conservatory.
Seeing the two mushrooms with the growing little tree beneath it, reminded me of ZEN-buddhism or a little bonsai tree. Here I tried focus stacking, which was quite difficult, as I had no expierence with it, only a normal DSLR (moving the focus ring and tried not to miss to much out) and no professionell programm like Zerene. Affinity had to help me out here. But in the end I am quite pleased with the result, though it´s not perfect ;-)
Dunree, County Donegal Ireland.
This Picture is captured on the hill top of Fort Dunree overlooking the ocean.
In its day this would have been an old look out point where Irish soldiers would have kept a sharp eye for enemies.
Now a days its a very popular historic landmark, people come from all over the world to visit this beautiful place.

Another day in summer 2016 on Sylt. To be honest the weather changed later but right then it was cold, windy and raining. Best conditions for a stroll along the beach. ;-)
