After the stilt broke up my mating American Avocets (a few weeks back), I went again to see if I could catch the action. So this male really put the moves on his female, for so long, I was thinking "dude, do it, or you're going to lose her to another stilt." He was able to finish the job this time though, in spite of the stilt photo-bomber.
Conrail train OIBU crosses Starrucca Viaduct in Lanesboro, PA on August 10, 1985. The main attraction at the time was the Lanesboro Detours taking place below on the D&H Penn Division, but it was worth shooting the Conrail trains on the viaduct whenever you knew one was close. We knew the Penn Division was going to go away, but never imagined at the time that Conrail running across the top would also come to an end.
