Veiros passed into the Portuguese hands in 1217, in the reign of D. Afonso II, following the Christian reconquest of the Iberian peninsula, to the Arabs, and it is believed that the human occupation of this region had existed at least since the time of the Romans.

D. Afonso II, will have delivered these lands to the Order of Avis, raising doubts as to whether the castle was built at this time, or only improved, but it is in the reign of D. Dinis in 1308 that the Tower of Menagem, as inscription inside the castle.

Already in the reign of D. João III, the earthquake of 1531, caused great damages in the fortification, having to be reconstructed. During the Restoration War, following an attack, the warehouse tower exploded, reducing it to debris.

The castle is classified as Property of Public Interest, the highlight is the so-called Clock Tower and inside it is the Mother Church, dating from the end of the 16th century, which will have replaced another one from the 13th century.

HCA-632 az egyetlen olyan hevesi C56, amiről pont Hevesben nem sikerült képet készítenem. Öröm az ürömben, hogy a nagy-VB-s ide-oda tologatások és átszervezések miatt a Tarján-Istenmezeje vonal átkerült Egerhez, így ha RWA-264-et pótolni kellett, akkor rendre Hevesből küldtek tartalékot (persze ha a szükség úgy hozta, a nógrádiak is megfordultak rajta ismét). El is jött az idő, amikor RWA műszakija lejárt és jobb híján HCA-632 vette át a helyét. Kihasználva az alkalmat sikerült is megörökíteni a tótújfalusi betérésnél Tarján felé és a visszaút se maradt ki: ikonikus helyen, nem sokkal Zagyvaróna után veselkedik neki az első komolyabb kanyarnak és a 180 méteres kapaszkodásnak Rónafaluig.
