Class D9 (GCR 11B/C/D) 6027. LNER 2312 at 1946 renumbering and finally 62312. Retford.

Statue of Jakob Ludwig Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy, born, and generally known in English-speaking countries, as Felix Mendelssohn (February 3, 1809 – November 4, 1847) was a German composer, pianist, organist and conductor of the early Romantic period.

Nothing special going on with these three. I just had the urge to shoot somebody. And Daisy is such a tempting target. 😜

Paddington on the 31st of July 1962 and Collett King 6027 King Richard the first looks to be backing into the station to work the M21 service, which was most likely the 18.10 Paddington to Birkenhead (thanks David R). We have an unidentified Hymek in the background.

6027 was new from Swindon Works in July 1930 and withdrawn in September 1962. Cutting up was at Cox and Danks in Oldbury in July 1963.
