Out with the Sigma 10-20 for a little while with this shot freezing my ass off the whole time, it was about 25 degrees farenheit with some good breezes blowing through and those breezes cut right through my clothes and was felt very strongly against my uncovered hands. Wah. Though the sky had a good blue to it the rest of the scenery was drab i thought, the browns and blacks with the sunlight just didn`t stand out all that well to my tastes so i converted to bw. I stooped down a little low pointing the camera from the ground up without looking through the viewfinder and shot away and despite the fact the stairway came out a bit crooked i liked the whole overall effect of this scene. There was some litter originally on the right that i didn`t see when i composed my shot so i cropped that out as well. This is such a fun lens i think, i wish this was one of my first instead of waiting so long to buy this one, i think my changing tastes though may have something to do with that. Alley Pond Park. Aqueduct Park in the Bronx - not to be confused with Aqueduct Park in Queens, where they hold horse races - runs for many blocks along the West Bronx. It is a park built on top of a major aqueduct supplying water to the city from upstate reservoirs.

Chris was one of a few people on downhill bikes. If you participated in the ride, he was the guy riding a manual for about 20 out of the 45 mile ride. That, of course, drew a few comments from other cyclists but Chris is a good guy and was never in danger of causing anyone any problems or crashing.
In fact, Chris probably had a better attitude then 95% of the other riders out there and changed a woman's flat tire with me. It was a pleasure to have him as part of our group.

Chris and I were changing a flat for a nice woman, Jeanie, that we had just met. She was riding with her 15 year old son Xavier and was a bit stressed about flatting and getting seperated.
Like the fine young man he seemed to be, he came walking back down the shoulder to check on his mother.

The biggest organized bike event in the country and 30,000 people participate. Traffic is closed down for 40 miles in NYC and you ride from Manhattan to Haralam, to The Bronx to Queens, to Brooklyn and then finish on Staten Island.
