New Forest ponies near Fritham

Sanctuary of Bom Jesus da Lapa is located in the municipality of Bom Jesus da Lapa in the state of Bahia, distant 796 kilometers from Salvador. The sanctuary was voted the first of the seven wonders of Brazil in a survey conducted by the 7 Maravilhas Brasil website. Discovered in 1691, the Grotto of Bom Jesus, the best known of the Morro de Bom Jesus da Lapa and former jaguars' dwelling, serves as the Church of Bom Jesus da Lapa.

It is famous for its pilgrimage leading many faithful to the streets of the city, considered the third largest in Brazil.
