I can hardly believe this little beauty came to nectar while I had the camera. She must be a juvenile.
Normally if the camera is not in hand they will come and see me up close and personal. They like to get about a foot or so away from my face to say hello.
However, with camera in hand they keep their distance and if I try to get a shot they perch on a tiny twig high in an oak tree while they wait for me to move on. If you ask me, that's bratty behavior.
Thanks for checking in, have a fantastic day.
Yuck!
Red fox with a Jerusalem cricket for breakfast. She didn't really like it, kept spitting it out.. but in the end she did eat the cricket. When hungry, anything goes.

Well it must be hot in the UK - of all things in the porch, a hummingbird hawkmoth. In fact this is one from a recent trip to the Med because the UK version is very smart and doesn't get caught up in the conservatory roof - unlike wasp and bees and butterflies and various others which I have to help outside again.
