On our last day in Iceland we did the South Coast Tour ... heading south towards Vik, the southernmost town on the island ... passing through a very different part of Iceland.
From Reynisfjara we headed back towards Reykjavik, making a couple of stops en route, one of those being the waterfall known as Seljalandsfoss.
Seljalandsfoss is one of the best known waterfalls in Iceland. It is situated between Selfoss and SkĂłgafoss, where Route 1 (the Ring Road) meets the track going to ĂĂłrsmörk.
This waterfall of the river SeljalandsĂĄ drops 60 metres (200 ft) over the cliffs of the former coastline. It is sometimes possible to walk behind the waterfall ... but not this day ... it was treacherously icy.

The Lockheed Martin HC-130J Combat King II is the U.S. Air Force's only dedicated fixed-wing personnel recovery
platform and is flown by the Air Education and Training Command (AETC) and Air Combat Command (ACC).
This C-130J variation specializes in tactical profiles and avoiding detection and recovery operations in austere environments.
