Almost 18 months of work came to fruition this morning with the completion of the cosmetic restoration of ATSF 5704 back into bicentennial paint that was worn by this exact locomotive back in 1976.
Hours of labor was poured into this locomotive to get it restored to it's former glory and it was a sight behold.

Part of my cancer series.
I have a terrific memory for terrible things, and a terrible memory for any thing good. The good memories seem to slip away and the bad ones are etched in my mind forever. I was reading something that reminded me of this phone call that I got years ago. It's the kind of phone call you don't want to get, finding out you lost another friend to cancer.
