Bücherverbrennung, 57 Jahren.
Thomas Mann, Walter Benjamin, Bertold Brecht, Robert Musil, Sigmund Freud, Karl Marx, Heinrich Heine... all burned out...
The picture was taken in Berlin. It is a hole in the middle of a place where we see this enlighted room with empty shelves.
Today it's been 57 years that the nazis started burning out ca. 20.000 books in Berlin...
Nowadays the Germans make sure that there's always at least one copy of those burned books being sold in front of the Humboldt Universitaet.
And one should learn from the history of the past: when they burn books, be sure people will be burned too...

A foto foi tirada em Berlim. Trata-se de uma janela no chão, no centro de uma praça em frente à Universidade Humboldt, onde se vê uma sala iluminada com estantes vazias. As estantes têm capacidade para 20.000 livros.
Hoje faz 57 anos que Hitler, recém chegado no poder, mandou começarem a queimar 20.000 livros em praça pública em Berlim.
Hoje em dia, os alemães fazem questão de que algum livro dos queimados sempre esteja à venda nas banquinhas em frente à Universidade Humboldt...
E a história se repete: onde se queimam livros, pessoas tb serão queimadas...
Enquanto isso, na sala da justiça...
