1956 Chevrolet Bel Air.

Although Cadillac did have a pink paint color (Dusty Rose) in 1956, I don't think that Chevrolet produced any Bel Airs in Lavender as this example shows.

Heavily modified as a Pro Street hot rod, this would be the perfect car to run out for those last minute Thanksgiving meal needs.

Happy Thanksgiving to all my American friends!

1956 Chevrolet Bel Air Nomad 2 Door Station Wagon.

Chevrolet Nomad is a nameplate used by Chevrolet in North America from the 1950s to the 1970s, applied largely to station wagons. Three different Nomads were produced as a distinct model line, with Chevrolet subsequently using the name as a trim package.

Marketed as a halo model of the Chevrolet station wagon line for the Tri-Five series, the Nomad was repackaged as a station wagon counterpart of the Chevrolet Bel Air and Chevrolet Impala from 1958 to 1961. From 1968 to 1972, the Nomad returned as the base-trim Chevrolet Chevelle station wagon.

1956 Chevrolet 210 Hardtop Coupe in factory Onyx Black over Crocus Yellow. As a replacement for the best-selling Styleline Deluxe, it was an important stepping stone in Chevrolet’s product line between the no-frills 150 and the top-of-the-line Bel Air. Both attractive and affordable, the 210 could be ordered with many popular options and sold well. Buyers could choose between the Blue Flame straight-six or any one of three different 265ci V-8s. The three-speed manual transmission was standard fare, but the two-speed Powerglide automatic was an option.

When it comes to mid 50's American cars, the 1956 Chevrolet Bel-Air is one of my all time favorites and I rarely pass an opportunity to photograph a nice one!

Merry Christmas, ride in style—

Santa's ‘56 Chevy for miles!...

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The ’55 Chevy was considered a huge turning point for Chevrolet and a major success… It was available in three models: the 150, 210, and Bel Air…It was their first successful attempt at a V8, which used a 36-horsepower overhead valve 288-cubic-inch motor…Another first was changing from a 6-volt to a 12-volt electrical system… The ‘55, ’56 and ‘57 Chevys are sought after by collectors, enthusiasts and hot rodders, and are often referred to by the nickname the "Tri-Fives”… The streamlined bird hood ornament came on the ’55 & ’56, this one being a ’56…
I discovered this cool piece of yard art during a recent foray through the back roads of Northeast Kansas. This image was captured with my 1956 Argus C3 Colormatic 35mm camera on Foma 400 film.
This 1956 Chevrolet Belair convertible was at a car show in the streets of downtown Sumner, WA. It has the original 265 cubic inch V8 and the original value in 1956 was $3,125 US dollars. At the time I took the photo I did not notice the sign behind the car on the building. :-) DSC_7872-HDR-1
MUST View On Black
This is more or less what i had in mind when i first saw this car. John and Tim were talking about how it makes an interesting shot to put a nice car like this somewhere you wouldn't usually see it, like on old dirt roads. but when i think of "old" car models i can't help but think unpaved, freshly churned dirt running through a backfield behind an old Mill or 1920's farm or estate. maybe its just me. either way, roads were paved in 1956, so im not trying to be politically correct or anything, just trying something new: Making things look old. =P
Hope everyone is enjoying their week. really cold here, at least colder than normal. maybe tomorrow ill post the ridiculous mailbox that was just 10 feet to my right when i shot this car, or if i get bored enough to work some magic, ill finish and post the burning bush from our first location. =D
This is a gorgeous 1956 Chevy BelAir taken at a rod and custom show in Sittingbourne, Kent recently. I'm really pleased with the way this one came out. Enlarge and view on black.
Last of my set of 20.
I found these two old relics just off of Brace Road in the Gogebic County countryside north of the Upper Peninsula town of Ironwood, Michigan, not far from Lake Superior. I'm assuming the trees grew up around these cars after they were parked there. That old '56 Chevy is still in pretty good shape.
A cool way to view mine or anyone else's photostream is on fluidr.
