Love these pretty dresses from Barbies of yesteryear.
I bought the Princess of the Danish Court dress, DOTW (2nd) Mexico dress, and Barbie Had a Little Lamb dress from bossytiger1 on feebay.
All of the dolls I found came out of the same dolly bin and were a bargain at $2 each, dressed (tho' not always in their original clothes).
I rarely find My Scene dolls in this area, so this seemed like great luck to find 8 of them all at once, and in nice condition, IMO - not to mention that I almost missed a large zipper baggie stuffed with extra clothes and accessories priced at $6.

Once upon a time, Barbie had a little lamb, and then Melody stole her dress. (Shoes came from the Sinatra Barbie.) I've wanted this set for ages, like since it came out in the late 1990s. The blue jacket and white skirt are separate pieces, which will come in handy later. It's designed to fit the Shani (1991) bodies, so it's loose in the bust on Melody (who has a Pivotal body).

Abbey looks otherworldly in this dress, from Princess of the Danish Court. I sold off the previous one I had, then regretted it, so I got another. Yay!

Rebuilt 1820, north aisle added 1844, enlarged 1887 for Henry Gladwyn Jebb by E. I. Hubbard of Rotherham, tower added 1900 in Jebb's memory. Ashlar limestone, slate roofs. 4-bay nave with south porch, north aisle and north-west tower, 2-bay chancel with apse. Nave: chamfered plinth, gabled buttresses to east and west and between windows have chamfered arrises. Gabled porch to bay 2 has chamfered round arch with hoodmould, niche with figure of St. Peter beneath roll-moulded gable copings with cross. Other bays with 3-lancet-light windows having shafted jambs and mullions and round-arched heads. Eaves cornice. Gable copings and crosses as porch. Tower set to rear described from west. Nave west window as south has buttress on right and single lancet over. Tower on left with angle buttress strips and round-arched window with similar paired windows over, hoodmoulds on brackets; string course beneath belfry arcade with shafts, louvres and zig- zag-moulded round arches beneath shared hoodmoulds; corbel table to corniced parapet; pyramidal lead roof with weather vane. Chancel: lower and narrower. South window as nave, sundial on right inscribed 'Erected A.D. 1821'. Round-headed 1-light windows to each face of apse, hoodmoulds. Corbel table to eaves, east cross at hip. Interior: north arcade of 1887 with scalloped capitals to round arches of 2 orders, end arches smaller; round chancel arch of same date. Monuments: at east end of north aisle to John West (d 1659) and wife Frances (d 1657) with Latin inscription in recess beneath archivolt. North aisle wall: 2 C19 wall monuments to the Knight family of Langold. South chancel wall: to Fidelia Knight (d 1671), inscribed black slab in bayleaf architrave. Stone benefactions slab at west end of nave, varous hatchments.

Dress: Princess of the Danish Court
Li Jianzhi, President of Yuanjiang Association of Environmental Protection Volunteers: The local government and relevant authorities constantly strengthen the ecological environment management, restoration and protection of the internationally important wetland in South Dongting Lake. The ecological environment of the wetland reserve has been improved, and the natural ecosystem of the wetland has been constantly restored. The species and population of migratory birds inhabiting here have significantly increased, with the number of wintering waterbirds in the Dongting Lake region reaching 458,500. In 2023, I photographed 9 bird species previously unrecorded in South Dongting Lake. In September 2024, I photographed the Glossy Ibis, a Class-I nationally protected bird species, in South Dongting Lake.
Shalin Courtyard is a distinctive agritourism destination in Xiaohezui Village. The courtyard is designed in classic Chinese style, with arched bridges over murmuring streams and covered walkways framing tranquil courtyards. Immersed in the melodious light music, people taste delicious foods and feel the new life in the new era.
Field visit and cultural performance at Xiaohezui Village. Local villagers perform traditional folk songs, which are intangible cultural heritage, for tourists. Xiaohezui Village is a traditional fishing village located beside Dongting Lake, within the project area for Ecological Restoration and Sustainable Development of South Dongting Lake Wetland. Historically, the villagers here made a living by fishing on Dongting Lake. However, with the implementation of the ten-year no-fishing policy in the Yangtze River Basin, this area has embarked on a transformation path.
Xiaohezui Village is a traditional fishing village located beside Dongting Lake, within the project area for Hunan South Dongting Lake Wetland Ecological Restoration and Sustainable Development Project. Historically, the villagers here made a living by fishing on Dongting Lake. However, with the implementation of the ten-year no-fishing policy in the Yangtze River Basin, this area has embarked on a transformation path.
Zhang Jianjun is playing the saxophone on the waterfront promenade. “With the ecological environment improving, we can enjoy excellent air quality here, appreciate the beautiful scenery and breathe fresh air. As dusk approaches, we can watch cormorants fishing and admire the sunset glow over Dongting Lake”, said Zhang Jianjun.

Before 2016, contracting operators illegally captured fish and shrimp here by constructing low enclosures, installing enclosure nets and placing ground cages, resulting in a sharp decline in wetland vegetation, a depletion of fish resources, and varying degrees of damage to the structure and function of the wetland ecosystem. Since the start of renovation and restoration, a total of nearly CNY1 million has been invested in succession.
Ecological restoration was carried out by means of dismantling low enclosures and removing enclosure nets, ground cages, wooden stakes, work sheds, houseboats and debris; Ecological transformation was carried out through measures such as channel closure and ecological water storage and moisturizing.
Ecological restoration was promoted by planting native wetland vegetation, e.g., salix triandroides, and aquatic plants; Monitoring of ecological restoration was carried out.
After a series of restoration measures, this area has achieved the following ecological outcomes: 32 additional species of shrubs, emergent plants, floating foliage plants, submerged plants and algae; 19 additional species of birds; local resident population exceeding 6,000 individuals; significant increase in fish resources; the sample site, with beautiful ecological environment and rich biodiversity, becoming the best place for migratory birds to forage and habitat and for fishes to migrate, spawn and breeds.
