Cut 2009 for Nicki, ref no 54.

A jigsaw cut for Nicki by Rob Garner of Amber Puzzles and resold in Nov 2015. It is in his usual style, an interlocking jigsaw with earlet knobs and with line-cutting (crossed by the occasional knob) and a few trademark whimsies. Nicki has highlighted the variety in edge pieces - the pieces that are L-shaped and often link to an edge are possibly unique to Rob and are always one of the features I look out for if I suspect a jigsaw was cut by him. There are also several false internal straight edge pieces.

IT was set up by the social reformer Eleanor Rathbone in the year that marked the start of female suffrage in Britain, and this trailblazing campaigner would surely be astonished that 90 years later The 1918 Club - an exclusive women's only discussion forum - is still meeting every month, only a short hop from its original base in the legendary Reece's dining rooms, on Liverpool's Bold Street. Eleanor was part of the famous philanthropic Rathbone family whose father was described by the Liverpool Post in 1902 as "one of the grandest old men whom Liverpool has ever claimed as a son".
Eleanor succeeded Millicent Fawcett as president of the National Union of Women's Suffrage Societies in 1919, although it took until 1928 for women to gain full voting rights.

Seasons
Earth experiences four seasons: spring, summer, fall, and winter. This happens because our planet is tipped on its axis and the two poles point to the same directions in space all year. Summer occurs on the hemisphere that is tipped toward the Sun. The hemisphere tilted away from the Sun experiences winter.
Our seasonal weather depends on where we live. Earth's distance from the Sun has very little effect on the seasons.

The Summer Sun
During the summer months, the Sun’s position in the sky brings warm weather, long days, and short nights. Earth’s surface and atmosphere warm up because they receive more heat from the Sun.
In summer, the Sun appears high in the sky and is up longer. Its light falls to the surface at a very steep angle on the half of Earth that is tipped toward the Sun.
The Winter Sun
In the winter, the Sun’s position in the sky brings cooler weather, with short days and long nights. Earth’s surface and atmosphere cool down because they get less heat from the Sun.
The winter Sun appears low in the sky during the day on the half of Earth that is tipped away from the Sun. Sunlight streams to the surface at a very shallow angle.

We're heading north on Charlotte Street. This is in one of the oldest neighbourhoods in Ottawa: Sandy Hill.
It's close to downtown, and also to the University of Ottawa. The students find this one of the top places to live since it's so handy to the campus.

Le canton de Concarneau a été créé en 18011.
Un nouveau découpage territorial du Finistère entre en vigueur à l'occasion des élections départementales de mars 2015, défini par le décret du 13 février 20142, en application des lois du 17 mai 2013 (loi organique 2013-402 et loi 2013-403)3. Les conseillers départementaux sont, à compter de ces élections, élus au scrutin majoritaire binominal mixte. Les électeurs de chaque canton élisent au Conseil départemental, nouvelle appellation du Conseil général, deux membres de sexe différent, qui se présentent en binôme de candidats. Les conseillers départementaux sont élus pour 6 ans au scrutin binominal majoritaire à deux tours, l'accès au second tour nécessitant 12,5 % des inscrits au 1er tour. En outre la totalité des conseillers départementaux est renouvelée. Ce nouveau mode de scrutin nécessite un redécoupage des cantons dont le nombre est divisé par deux avec arrondi à l'unité impaire supérieure si ce nombre n'est pas entier impair, assorti de conditions de seuils minimaux4. Dans le Finistère, le nombre de cantons passe ainsi de 54 à 27. Le nombre de communes du canton de Concarneau passe de 2 à 6.
Le nouveau canton de Concarneau est formé de communes des anciens cantons de Concarneau (1 commune), de Rosporden (4 communes) et de Bannalec (1 commune). Le canton est entièrement inclus dans l'arrondissement de Quimper. Le bureau centralisateur est situé à Concarneau.
