WILLOW RIVER is a community northeast of Prince George, on the northeast bank of the Willow River, 2.5 kilometres (1.6 mi) southeast of the confluence with the Fraser River, in central British Columbia. The name derives from the many willow swamps in the river valley. Comprising about 150 residents, it has a general store / post-office, a volunteer fire department, church building and a small community hall.

A most unusual image today from the lens of Elinor and Reginald Wiltshire. A sports scene with rowing featuring an eight oared boat race on the River Dodder at Rathfarnham in 1954. Morning Mary is surprised that there was a sufficiently wide part of the Dodder to accomodate it and a sufficiently long stretch (2000 metres) to enable a standard boat race. Who can throw some light on the matter?

A newly repainted AMTK 164 flies through West Burlington, Iowa, leading a westbound California Zephyr. Behind is AMTK 54, a baggage, and six SuperLiners. This is the first full revenue trip for No. 164 since leaving the Beech Grove Shops in Phase IV paint a handful of days before.
There was an uproar within the railfan community when Amtrak repainted its 40th Anniversary Phase IV P42 (No. 184) earlier in 2023. Fast forward not so long into the future, and here we see the railroad's response.

The car has a V12-cyl engine in the mid, rearwheeldrive, 3929 cc, 350 PS(HP) at 7000 rpm, 5 speed-gear box, 0-100 Km/h in 6.8 sec, max speed 265 Km/h, weight 980 Kg, height 1.10 m / 43.3 in (!), this car built in 1967 (total 475 cars).
For me this is the most beautiful car ever built ! BASTA !!! (Design: Marcello Gandini for Bertone).
If you want to own one like Jay Leno does: in auctions cars like that were sold for 700.000 € up to 1.100.000 $ ! :)

A half length portrait of one of the leaders of the 1916 Rising who was executed in Kilmainham Gaol.

Seán Mac Diarmada (English: John MacDermott; 27 January 1883 – 12 May 1916), also known as Seán MacDermott, was an Irish political activist and revolutionary leader. He was one of the seven leaders of the Easter Rising of 1916, which he helped to organise as a member of the Military Committee of the Irish Republican Brotherhood (IRB) and was a signatory of the Proclamation of the Irish Republic. He was executed for his part in the Rising at the age of thirty-three.
Raised in rural County Leitrim, he was a member of many associations which promoted the cause of the Irish language, Gaelic revival and Irish nationalism in general, including the Gaelic League and (early in his career) the Irish Catholic fraternity the Ancient Order of Hibernians. He was national organiser for Sinn Féin, and later manager of the newspaper Irish Freedom, started in 1910 by Bulmer Hobson and others. Within the Irish Republican Brotherhood, he was a close colleague and friend of veteran republican Tom Clarke.

En avril 2013 les initiales "BAM" ont été remplacées par "MBC" sur le flanc des véhicules.

La ligne Bière Apples Morges a été construite en trois étapes à voie métrique, sa longueur totale est de 31,8 Kilomètres, soit 19,1 Kilomètres de Morges à Bière, construite en 1895,10,6 Kilomètres de l'Isle à Apples construite en 1896 et de 2,1 Kilomètres de Bière à la place d'armes de Bière construite en 1997 (embranchement réservé pour les trains de l'armée).

Hace años que tenía ganas de hacer una fotografía de este estilo tan particular y finalmente he tomado la decisión de hacerla, aunque siendo honesto, utilizando unos medios bastante rudimentarios, pese a todo el resultado me gusta en cierta medida. En próximas ocasiones seguiré intentando perfeccionar más la técnica y los medios utilizados.
La modelo en cuestión, la maravillosa Paola de Bariloche, una pequeña cachorrilla de dogo de Burdeos.

Once again we can present another collaborative Star Wars Layout that we put together with Brickz Lab community members!
This time we based the vegetation and terrain on an old Empire at War map of Dagobah and added screen accurate buildings, vehicles and props where they were needed.
The MOC was created for the IDS-Brickworld convention in Velen, Germany and will also travel to Bricking Bavaria in Friedrichshafen this November!
Thank you to everybody who participated in this project as well as to those who helped set it up at the convention.
