I could hardly contain my excitement to be able to photograph this Merlin in my yard and on my perch! The conditions were less than ideal - poor light, snow and through a window but I am more than thrilled! She was being bothered by magpies in this photo. Taken in my yard in Calgary, Alberta.

Wow I would never have guessed a Merlin! Thank you to Monte and Sunny for the ID correction! Confirmed as female.

The first engine painted in the SPSF merger scheme, Santa Fe SD45 #5394 changes crews at San Bernardino on it's maiden voyage on August 7th, 1985.

This was the only Santa Fe engine (along with SP #7551) to have the white initials that were soon changed to yellow.
