Hello Dear Flickr friends I hope you are all well and happy. I am still mostly away from flickr and - but thought I would share photos of this gentleman whom I have noticed on and off - patiently waiting for visitors with very watchful eyes - and no doubt with some interesting plans on the Halloween menu .

I probably shouldn't be uploading this so late (my time) but ah well. I kept procrastinating uploading this because I didn't want to haha. I'm not going to lie, I haven't picked up my camera in a while and I know precisely why. I'm not going to get into it right now, but mostly because I kind of just lost faith in my work. I lost the ability to look at my photos and find something I'm proud of. I actually hate them all right now
BUT I'm doing what I always do, I push myself to get over it because sitting around wondering if I'm ever going to achieve what I want so bad won't do anything. I just have to learn to suck it up and keep going.
but man I've never felt this discouraged. It feels like time is running out and being what I want to be is so far beyond my reach. But yeah, suck it up and keep going.

He tratado de tocarlas lo menos posible, excepto alguna clonación o retoque mínimo, para que por si solas, transmitan el calor de aquella ciudad y la magia de sus gentes. A mí, sinceramente, me han sorprendido. Con esta foto voy a iniciar un nuevo album, porque son fotos que me han gustado mucho.

I take today one of the photos made by my son Raúl, in a trip he made to Havana. I have tried to touch them as little as possible, except some cloning or minimal retouching, so that on their own, they transmit the heat of that city and the magic of its people. To me, honestly, I have been surprised. With this photo I'm going to start a new album, because they are photos that I liked a lot.

Und noch ein Highlight vom vergangenen Samstag:
Die noch fast nagelneue 187 538 der HSL mit Autos nach Saal (Donau)! :)
Der eine oder andere mag sich womöglich noch an das im März gezeigte Bild aus Leipzig und die damit verbundene Enttäuschung erinnern... Das Bild zeigte einen der begehrten HSL-Züge zeigte und den schicken Kesseln war auch tatsächlich eine 187 vorgespannt, allerdings eben keine der neuen "eigenen" Loks, sondern "nur" eine Railpool-187 in Standard-Silber...
Erst wenige Tage vor der Aufnahme aus Leipzig war unter den zahlreichen netten Nachrichten, die diese Seite hier erreichen, eine Nachricht, die auf die neuen HSL-Loks 187 535 bis 187 538 aufmerksam machte, die in den Wochen zuvor an die HSL Logistik GmbH ausgeliefert wurden - allesamt Loks der Baureihe 187 aus dem Hause Bombardier und allesamt farbenfroh und hübsch lackiert sowie mit farbenfrohen Seitenpanels versehen. In der Nachricht schwang die Hoffnung mit, diese neuen Loks hier auch einmal auf der Seite sehen zu können. Damals war der Kommentar meinerseits:
An MIR würde das ja nicht scheitern... ;)
Am vergangenen Samstag war es dann endlich (!) soweit, denn das Schicksal meinte es gut und ermöglichte die erste eigene Aufnahme einer braunen HSL-187 mit Anhang. :)
Vermutlich etwas (viel ;) ) verspätet war die 187 538 der HSL mit einer Vielzahl an schicken Neuwagen als DGS 98465 unterwegs nach Saal (Donau) und passierte dabei auch die Frankenmetropole Nürnberg. :) Am Vormittag verließ sie dann auf Höhe des Nürnberger Fernsehturms den Nürnberger Güterring in Richtung Eibach bzw. Treuchtlingen und Ingolstadt.
Die 187 538, ihres Zeichens eine Lok des Typs TRAXX F140 AC3 aus dem Hause Bombardier Transportation, dürfte noch nach "Neulok" riechen - immerhin wurde sie erst Anfang März 2018 an die HSL ausgeliefert. :)
Die Besonderheit dieser Loks bzw. genauer gesagt vieler Loks dieser Baureihe ist ein so genannter Last Mile-Diesel, mit dem die E-Loks dann auch die so genannte "letzte Meile" bedienen können, die über keine Oberleitung verfügt. Somit können diese Loks beispielsweise ohne Lokwechsel bzw. ohne Zusatzlok in nicht elektrifizierte Gleisanschlüsse, Anschlussbahnen und Terminals ein- und ausfahren. Letztendlich sorgt also der Last Mile-Diesel dafür, dass nicht elektrifizierte Bereiche effizient überbrückt und so an vielen Orten Rangier- und Dieselloks eingespart werden können. Ermöglicht wird das durch ein leistungsstarkes Last Mile-Modul aus Dieselmotor und Zusatzbatterie.
Die Baureihe 187 ist die erste Variante der TRAXX-3-Reihe. Die Loks sind für 15 kV 16,7 Hz und 25 kV 50 Hz Wechselstrom ausgerüstet und können optional mit einem 180 kW starken Diesel-Hilfsmotor ausgestattet werden, um auch Streckenabschnitte ohne Oberleitung (im "Last Mile"-Modus) befahren zu können. Im Dieselbetrieb werden alle vier Fahrmotoren betrieben; die Anfahrzugkraft ist dabei genauso hoch wie bei elektrischem Betrieb. Ohne Anhängelast kann eine Lok der Baureihe 187 mit ihrem Dieselmotor eine Höchstgeschwindigkeit von 60 km/h erreichen; einen 2.000 Tonnen schweren Zug kann sie - so sagt zumindest die Theorie ;) - noch auf 40 km/h beschleunigen. Der Diesel-Hilfsmotor verfügt über einen Hubraum von 7.150 cm³ und erfüllt die Stage-IIIB-Abgasnorm. Der Tankinhalt von 400 Litern reicht für bis zu acht Stunden Dieselbetrieb, kurze Strecken können auch ausschließlich mit der eingebauten Batterie zurückgelegt werden. Der Übergang von elektrischer Traktion zu Dieseltraktion kann während der Fahrt erfolgen. Für den Rangierbetrieb ist eine Funkfernsteuerung für die Lok erhältlich.
Die oben genannte Einschränkung, dass nicht alle, sondern nur viele dieser Loks über den "Last Mile"-Diesel verfügen, rührt daher, dass diese Ausstattung eben optional ist und nicht zwingend mitbestellt werden muss. In jenen Loks der Baureihe 187, die nicht über die Last Mile-Vorrichtung verfügen, ist laut Auskunft von Lokführern derart viel Platz im Maschinenraum, dass man dort problemlos Wartezeiten mit einem Tänzchen überbrücken könnte.
Letzteres käme wohl auf einen Versuch an... ;)

Three different outfits, three different shoes. Out of the three the black sandals are the most comfortable after all day on. A trip food shopping and another trapes around IKEA, where the reason I chose them. Not the best pedi I'm afraid, must get them done properly. My usual place is no longer open, so will have to find another salon. Took me ages to pluck up the courage two years ago to step inside (Ann mode), now i'll have to do it all over again. Been looking at Mint in Meadowhall, anyone else been there?
